Urban Soccer Rules
Rules listed below are created by league, Indoor/Outdoor facilities and for your safety and are not open for discussion. If you have any questions feel free to ask one of the URBAN SOCCER supervisory staff on duty.
Outdoor
- All players Must be registered prior to the start of the game.
- An Urban League issued shirt must be worn during the game ( player
without league shirt risk 2 minute penalty)
- Gears: Turf or Flats soccer shoes, shorts and shin pads. (If a player is in a game without
proper gears, game official or USL staff may ask him to step out. The player may not enter back in the game until
proper attire is satisfied)
- kickoff: Ball must roll fwd midfield at start of game & to restart
after each goal score.
(Opponent must allow 5 yards distance to restart).
- No Offsides
- No Slide Tackles
- Substitutions: unlimited on a fly. (Goal Keeper substitutions MUST be made during teams possession)
- Free Kicks: 6v6 (6 yards), 7v7 (7yards), 8v8 (8 yards)
- Penalty kicks: All Pk's taken with 1 step.
- Pass Back: keeper can not use hands to play the ball
- Yellow Card = 2 minutes penalty, team plays a player down, unless
opponent scores. 2 accumulated yellow cards = red card.
- Red Card = Player will automatically be suspended from game with risk of
league expulsion!
(team plays 5 minutes shorthanded or until opponent scores. new player allow
after power play served).
- Fighting, abusive language, red cards may be subject to game or season suspension. (Determined by the league)
- Two 22mins/halves. (Team changes side immediately & resumes play)
- Draw: End of regulation time the score is tie, it will record as tie with
each team receiving a point.
- W=3 points, L=0pt., D=1pt., Forfeits 5-0
- Pickup players: Teams may pickup at most 2 additional league players to
complete the side in the interest of the game/competition rather then
executing a forfeit. There will be no delay of game for missing players or team not being ready.
- Six-A-Side: Minimum requirement 4 players for an official game.
- Seven-A-Side: Minimum requirement 5 players for an official game.
- Eight-A-Side: Minimum requirement 6 players for an official game.
- Referees decisions are final & binding as no protest allowed after
game!
- Coed 6v6 (Minimum 2 women), Coed 7v7 (minimum 3 women)
- Rainouts: We play rain/shine except severe, dangerous conditions. League
reserves additional fields Saturday PM for rainout makeup games or any other
cancellations. Exception: No rescheduling indoor games
- Forfeits: We strongly suggest every effort to attend all games even if
it's a partial squad. League will do best in sending additional substitute
players as needed in the interest of competition. Please notify league if
need to forfeit by 3pm game day. Multiple forfeits can jeopardize team
re-registration outcome!
- Team Captains/Coordinators responsibilities: Ensure that your respective
teams are aware of the above guidelines, player's proper behavior, &
full payment of team entry dues.
Indoor
- Picture I.D. required to enter building.

No personal
belongings/bags are allowed on the gymnasium floor. Players must change
in locker & provide your own lock. (This applies to both players and spectators)
- All personal property must be put away in lockers. (Urban Soccer is not responsible for any stolen or damaged property left in the lockers)
- No changing in the lobby or inside the gymnasium.
- A Shirt must be worn at all times, while in the building.
- No balls are allowed to be brought into the lobby or the gymnasium. Except USL
approved Futsal balls.
- All team members must wear the team issued Urban Soccer T-shirt, during the game. Players without Urban Soccer T-Shirt will not be allowed to participate in the game.
- All team members must wear Shin Guards while in the game. (If a player is in a game without Shin Guards the referee or USL staff may ask him to step out. The player may not enter back in the game until they put on Shin Guards)
- No sitting or standing on sidelines while a game is in progress.
- No Food is allowed inside the Gym. Water only.
- Roster: 9 players may compose a team.
- All players Must be registered prior to the start of the game.
- Pickup players: Teams may pickup at most 2 additional league players to
complete game lineup in the interest of the game/competition rather then
executing a forfeit. There will be no delay of game for missing players or team not being ready.
- Referees decisions are final & binding as no protest allowed after
